Journals will be available from Tuesday 30 August in school.
The North Dublin Regional Drug & Alcohol Task Force (RDATF) have asked us to let you know about a series of talks for parents and a free app: “We recently launched the free drug-education app, SAND – Substance Abuse North Dublin. The Task Force developed the app in consultation with community stakeholders and young people from the region, as a drug-education tool for young people and parents. It is available for download, just search ‘sand drugs’ in the app/play store.”

Craig Giles ran a phenomenal race today and placed 2nd in the All-Ireland’s!! He competed in the U16 mile and ran a great time of 4 mins 37 secs. He placed himself in the top group from the beginning of the race and kept his position through some pushing and pressure from other athletes, but held his own to give a strong performance and a great finish. His hard work and training really showed and the school is very proud of the strong senior athlete he is maturing into. Well done Craig!!

Well done to our TY students who had a wonderful opportunity to display their very impressive portfolios on Tuesday night. They were justly rewarded for their hard work throughout a packed programme during which they developed the skills and resilience they will need in the years ahead. Parents were delighted to be able to see the results of the students and teachers dedication to our renowned PCS TY programme. 
Thanks go to Ms Molamphy, TY coordinator, Mr Dempsey, Year Head and all of the tutors and teachers who made this night and year very special.
Today Portmarnock was the proud recipient of the two major flags from An Taisce : The Green Coast Flag and Blue Flag.
An emotional and celebratory Graduation Ceremony was held on Monday 23 May. The students’ parents and guardians witnesses their sons’ and daughters’ rite of passage against an inspiring backdrop created by Mr Higgins depicting the flight of the Southern Cross from the Velvet Strand in 1930. The crew’s endeavour, resilience and determination complimented the theme ‘On Our Way’.
Fr Garry celebrated mass followed by presentation of Mr Higgin’s beautiful yearbooks to each graduate. A reception organised by the Parents association followed and capped off a marvelous day. Thanks to Ms O’Driscoll and Ms McGlynn the choir and musicians were inspirational. 
Thanks to Ms Clarke and the Prefects for their organisation; to Mr Maynes for his leadership and to all who assisted to make it a fitting send off for our great sixth years.

Twenty five South Korean Principals came to PCS today to learn about our Transition Year Programme with a view to applying some aspects to their own curriculum. Ms Molamphy informed them about the Programme an
d then they visited our TY Portfolio Assessments where students were being interviewed. They were very impressed with our methods but mostly with the confidence of our students. They were even more impressed by our #maplesotho project which won Young Social Innovators recently.
Ms Maguire ‘s 6th year Home Economics class enjoyed a farewell party of tea and cakes on Friday morning. Best wishes to the students for the future and good luck in the exams.
