Gael Linn award for Head Boy.
Congratulations to Sam Cox our Head Boy who was presented with a prize for his original drama as gaeilge centered around the events of 1916. The following is an excerpt:
Ó Cléirigh: Dúirt mé libh é! Bhí a fhios agam é! Chuala sibh mé. Bhí sé de cheart againn é a fhagáil faoi Ó Pluingcéad.
Mac Piarais: Céard?!
Ó Chongaile: B’fhéidir go mbeidh sé níos… oiriunní é a léamh i nGaeilge, Padraig. Seans gurb í seo an noiméaid is tabachtaí i stair na tíre.
Mac Piarais: Ba mhaith libh go rachainn, ar staighre Ard-oifig an Phoist, fógra I mo lámh agam agus é a léamh amach. I nGaeilge.
Ó Cléirigh: Díreach é.
Mac Piarais: Ní thuigfidís mé! Agus cad faoi na Mericeanaigh, agus na Sasanaigh? Beidh siad uile go léir ag gáire fúinn! “Féach orthu! Ní siad fiú in ann abairt a chur le chéile, agus tá said ag iarradh a bparlaimint féin a bheith acu?”

Two of our enterprise teams participated in the Student Enterprise County Final. Tom Finucane’s business idea was “The Crisp Claw” which is an acrylic design that captures the crisps in the bottom of a cylinder. The other business “Lochulus” designed a kit of the essentials required when hiking or camping and this enterprise was run by Ravikanth Gollapalli, Darragh Brennan, Adam Al Ja’Afreh Adam Caffrey and Adam O’Brien. Both businesses worked diligently on their projects.
