Friendship Week.

Friendship Week in PCS ran from Monday 12  Oct to Friday 16 Oct. It involved an anti-bullying programme and culminated in our Friendship Concert on Friday. Thanks to Ms O’Driscoll, Ms McGlynn, Mr Maynes and all of the supporting students and performers who made the day very special. Double Victories for PCS Hurlers!

Well done to our Senior Hurling Team who defeated a strong Scoil Íosa team to guarantee a place in the Championship Quarter Final. A last minute goal from Ian Garry sealed the game at 3-16 to 2-16 and man of the match was Tommy Kinnane with an outstanding performance between the sticks.

The U16 Hurlers had a comprehensive victory over Skerries in the Dublin School’s Championship. Fine performances from Josh Hoban, Harry Kealy and Tom Cosgrove ensured progress.

Grand Opening of Portmarnock’s New Den.

Many of our students that were involved in the opening of “The Den” on Saturday.  The den is the first joint Girl Guide  Scout Centre In Ireland. The TY girls were involved in getting everything ready for the official opening.

Congratulations to our Junior Cert. Students!

Well done girls.Well done to each and every one of our Junior Certificate students who received their results today. Parents and Guardians shared in a happy occasion during which Ms Deeney congratulated them for their personal achievement supported by their families. Thanks to Ms Molamphy for organising an entertaining morning of Samba drums and Juggling. We wish our students all the best as they enter Senior Cycle well equipped for the road ahead.

A team of fourth year students took part in an anti littering campaign in conjunction with Fingal County Council. The aim of the campaign was to create an advert to be shown in cinemas. A film crew came to the school to assist the students with the creation of the ad. The film was then judged by a panel and the advertisements from various school across Fingal were shown in Swords cinema on the big screen on the 27th of May. Our team consisted of Rebecca Smyth, Amy Jones, Lauren Hughes O Brien, Fia Donnelly, Sarah Hylton, and Katelyn Roche.film advert 1
The team won the prize for the most artistic advertisement. Well done to all involved especially Ms Tynan.

First Years Fun Day!

Balancing Act!Our new First years had an energetic and enjoyable day of fun this week during which they participated in various sports and challenges while getting to know each other in the sunshine.They even had a lesson on nutrition and the importance of exercise. We are very grateful to all of the teachers who gave their time to make the day possibCounting on you.le and especially our PE teachers for organising our annual day of bonding and fun. No obstacle.Follow the leader.

The Annual Sports Awards take place at 7.30 on Monday 11 May and we are delighted to announce that Jim Gavin, the Dublin Manager, will be making the presentations. All involved with sport in PCS this year are welcome as are their families. Thanks to all of the teachers who mentored their teams this year which involves a huge time and energy commitment.
