Adam Al Ja’Afreh writes “On 27/11/2012, in Mr Higgins’ art class, a student from 1st year (1N) brought in some items from his Czech culture as requested. Some of these included Czech Republic’s main international export-Beer (Budweisser) along with a Czech ginger like cake with apricot jam and chocolate topping (perník) and the Czech currency Koruny (Crowns). The 1st year class also got a picture taken in front of the Czech Flag in front of the school. The double session class was thoroughly enjoyed by the students and Mr Higgins”. Thanks to Adam’s mother who made the cake! (Photo Mr Higgins).
DAVID Rooney (former student) has been selected to run for the Ireland
senior team at the European cross country championships in Budapest,
Hungary on December 9. He previously helped the Ireland U-23 squad win
a team gold medal at the championships. His selection is entirely
predictable in the wake of his outstanding form on the US collegiate
cross country circuit this season. In his final year at McNeese
University (source of video) he has been in top form culminating in his briliant 7th position in the NCAA cross country championships on the weekend before last – the six runners ahead of him were all African born.
