Some concerns regarding cyber-bullying have been brought to our attention. We ask all members of the school community to read the following article on Ask.fm (here). Parents and guardians in particular should talk to their children about use of the site and advise them to avoid it. Ask.fm can also be removed from your child’s Facebook news-feeds (“how to” details here).

Congratulations to the Senior Girls team who won the Leinster C Basketball League final.
The team defeated Mount Temple Comprehensive School in a very tense, competitive encounter at the Oblate Hall, Inchicore. Just two points separated the teams at the final whistle, which only added to the excitement for team members and supporters alike.
The girls now progress to the All Ireland Play Offs series in the new year. Well done to all the players and coaches in bringing another Leinster title back to PCS. Thanks also to the parents and supporters who added to the great atmosphere at today’s final. (Photo – Ms. Deeney)
Thanks to all the Transition Year students who applied for the place on the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland Mini-med programme. Applications are now closed.

The Student Council are organising a hamper appeal for Brother Kevin’s Capuchin Day Centre for Homeless People. Members of the Council spoke at Assemblies regarding this initiative (Picture: mycharity.ie). Please bring in non-perishable goods.
A significant sporting fund-raising event took place in the school last week in order to support a sick past-pupil’s pilgrimage to Lourdes: Portmarnock Community School comprehensively beat Malahide Community School in a local u18 Gaelic-football derby. Over 300 tickets were sold at €5 each (photos by Mark Nolan). Thanks to both teams, their mentors and all who bought tickets. Special thanks to Mr. O’ Cearra and Mr. Conroy.
