Walk in my shoes.
Students are preparing for the Walk in my Shoes fundraiser for Mental Health Services for
Young Adults in St. Patrick’s University Hospital on Wednesday 20th March. Odd, mis-matched and creative items of footwear may be worn into school (€2 donation) (Banner credit here). Who will wear these “shoes”?
Seachtain na Gaeilge
A number of events are for Seachtain na Gaeilge and as always our emphasis is on encouraging people to use whatever Irish they have. We will also be continuing our series of animations based on seanfhocail. You can view them in Taisce or on the website. Bainigí triail aisti agus bainigí taitneamh is sult as.
Leaving Certificate students can find their Béaltriail na Gaeilge poetry read by their teachers for download from iTunes here. The poems are also available along with other Irish language content, on our Taisce website, here.
Easter Study: A notice was given to Third and Sixth Year students for arrangements regarding school-supervised study over the Easter Holidays.
Trócaire Fast
A good number of students have volunteered to undertake the Trócaire Fast this year. Thanks to Sr. Ger for organising the students, most of whom will fast this coming Wednesday.

The Gathering Ireland Short Film Competition.
Well done to the five Transition-year students who reached the regional finals and enjoyed an evening at the Gibson Hotel, as the eleven shortlisted films were judged. The winning school was Coláiste Iosagáin. The same group are now preparing a video on positive uses of the Internet, working with past-pupil and film-studies student, Denise McKenna. Thanks also to Ms. Tynan for making the Animation area available to the students. (Photo credit: Mr. O’ Mahony)
Guys and Dolls
The stage has now arrived into the school and preparations are well under way for the production of Guys and Dolls. Good luck to all concerned.
It will be staged Tuesday to Friday, 19th – 22nd of March. Tickets will sell out quickly once on sale. Thanks to Ms. O’ Reilly and her students who are in the midst of organising these tickets! (Photo credit: Wikimedia).
First Year Assembly

Europe Day posters: We made these posters to inform people about the Year of the Citizen. We started by drawing a sketch on an A4 page and improved them until they were good enough to put on A3. We then used pencils and Mr Higgins taught us how to use colour pencils. When we were finished Mr. O’ Mahony took pictures of them. By Aaron Donnelly and Clodagh McCarthy. With thanks to Luke Peyton for getting the report online.
