…a barrier-free school

Aoife is an art-teacher who has worked in PCS. She is exhibiting in Starbucks, Malahide. Her exhibition is called “no boats“.

There is a comprehensive Transition Year update on the relevant section of the website.

Mr . Murphy writes “Congratulations to the U19 Boys Soccer Squad who had a very impressive victory against Malahide Community School recently. Portmarnock won 4-0 and scorers were Cian Fitzpatrick, Philip Rusk, Simon Lenihan and Chris Farrelly. There was a great team performance and everyone worked really hard to keep a clean sheet. Well done to all”. (Image credit: Carolus Ludovicus)

The Sixth-year prefects are visiting Assemblies this week to explain their work in support of the school community. They have also drawn up their Mission Statement. Thanks to Sr. Ger and Ms. D. O’ Brien who recently facilitated their training (image credit: Ms. D. O’ Brien).

School is an environment in which each individual is encouraged to develop academically, creatively, and socially. As the 2013/2014 team of prefects, we believe that it is also a place of fun, friendship, and fulfilling one’s potential. As we walk down the corridors, we promote a barrier-free school in which people’s individuality is respected and diversity is supported.

As a team, we aspire to promote a spirit of positivity and confidence, so that each member of the school environment can participate and know that their voice is heard in a true community of equals.

In this, our final year in Portmarnock Community School, we hope to not only be student leaders, but to create a legacy that inspires others to get as involved as we have. We also hope for all to enjoy and embrace the opportunities of the coming year.

Learn from the past, enjoy the present, and look forward to the future.
