On Tuesday 20th January PCS travelled to Loreto College, St Stephen’s Green to debate the motion, ‘Scotland should have voted for independence.’ The PCS team – Faolan McGovern Radford (captain), Mark Nugent, Eoin Holton and Aisling Moore – opposed the motion. Both teams offered well-researched and passionate arguments and the PCS team were delighted when the motion was unanimously defeated and they were declared winners of the debate. Thanks to all the other members of the Senior Debating Club who provided lots of support and assistance to the team in the weeks leading up to the debate.
Our next debate will be held in PCS on Tuesday 3rd February at 7pm. We will host St. Kevin’s College Finglas to debate the motion ‘“Ireland’s commitment to tackling climate change is a load of hot air.” All support is welcome!
