CPR and Emergency First Aid Course

 

After this three hour intensive course, participants can avail of the option to get a first responder card, recognised by the Irish Heart Foundation  (this is an extra twenty euro)

This intensive three hour course covers many life saving skills including:

 

  • How to respond to someone who collapses suddenly
  • The actions to take when this happens- what to check and look out for (for cardiac arrest)
  • How to perform CPR on adults and children
  • Practice CPR on a mannequin
  • How to use a defibrillator
  • Choking – types of choking and correct action to take to save somebody’s life
  • Recognising the signs of a stroke and what to do
  • Heart attacks- recognising and action to take
  • Wounds and breakages- how to apply pressure/ bandages correctly, etc and next steps to take
  • And more

 

Cost: 50 euro 

Nights: Tuesday nights

Duration: One night for three hours

Times: 6-9pm

About the Tutor: Ray Steers is a certified first aid instructor, recognised by The Irish Heart Foundation and PHECC. He is very effective in his teaching methods, and students leave with a good sense of how to help others in times of emergency.
