This comprehensive 16-week evening course is designed for individuals looking to work as SNAs in primary, secondary, or special school settings.

• The Role of the SNA: Understanding professional boundaries and responsibilities under Department of Education guidelines.
• Inclusion & Child Development: Exploring safe learning environments and studying models of behaviour.
• Supporting Additional Needs: Practical strategies for supporting students with Autism (ASD), ADHD, Down Syndrome, and sensory differences.
• Individual Education Plans (IEPs): How to read and contribute effectively to a student’s School Support Plan.

• Work Placement: Learners must independently secure and complete 30 hours of paid or voluntary work experience in a structured school setting (Primary, Secondary, or Special School) during the 16-week term to satisfy the QQI assessment criteria.

• Start Date: Tuesday 22nd September 2026
• Class Times: 6:30pm – 9:00pm (Every Tuesday evening)
• Duration: 16 weeks (40 hours total tuition) + 30 hours work experience
• Term Breaks: No classes during the October mid-term break or any other scheduled school holidays.
• Course Fee: €375 (Includes all QQI registration fees).

• Assessment: Continuous assessment via learner records and a skills demonstration portfolio (No final written exam).
