Supporting Children Through Understanding
At In Their World SAS, we provide autism-informed training and support for both professionals and families. Our practical, child-centred approach helps you better understand communication, emotional regulation, and behaviour—so you can confidently support every child in a meaningful and inclusive way.

Led by an experienced Special Needs Assistant (SNA) currently working within a local school autism unit, this practical 6-week evening course bridges the gap between classroom success and daily life. While predominantly designed to empower parents with real-world strategies, this course is highly valuable for early-career educators, SNAs, childminders, and local sports or community coaches looking to build their confidence.
In this 6 week course, we will cover:
Practical strategies you can use every day
Support for parents and families
Focus on respect, understanding, and individuality
- Frontline Expertise: Skip the clinical theory and learn the exact, proven methods used daily in modern autism units.
- Consistency Across Environments: Learn how to mirror successful school routines at home, in childcare settings, or during community activities.
- Local Networking: Connect with a supportive network of local parents and community members sharing similar experiences.
- Visual Supports & Routines: How to create and use visual timetables, token economies, and now/next boards that actually work.
- Sensory Regulation: Identifying sensory triggers and building proactive “sensory diets” for home or community spaces.
- Managing Transitions: Practical blueprints to reduce anxiety during difficult transitions (e.g., leaving the house, starting homework, bedtime).
- De-escalation Techniques: Real-world communication tools to support a child through sensory overload or a meltdown.
- Collaborative Advocacy: How to read school support plans (IEPs/SSPs) and build an effective, positive partnership with your child’s school team.
Our mission is to empower children by supporting the adults around them — through knowledge, practical strategies, and compassionate understanding — so that every child can be supported in a way that truly meets their needs.
